Select an image in the list to preview it. Sizes are relative to each image, so every photo gets the same look.

Step by step with the Image Watermark Tool

    1. Add the images to watermark, and select one to preview.
    2. Type the watermark text, and choose its font, size, colour and opacity.
    3. To add a logo, choose a PNG with a transparent background and set its size and opacity.
    4. Pick a position or Tiled, and set the rotation and margin while watching the preview.
    5. Select Add watermark and download the results.

    A real example

Marking a batch of product photos for an online shop:

    • Text © Priya Crafts, Arial bold, white, size 4 %, opacity 70 %, shadow on.
    • Logo: a transparent PNG at 12 % of the image width, opacity 85 %.
    • Position Bottom right, margin 3 %.

On a 2000-pixel-wide photo the text is 80 pixels tall and the logo 240 pixels wide, 60 pixels in from the edges. On a 1000-pixel photo from the same batch everything is exactly half that, so both look alike.

    What happens to your image

The text size, logo size and margin are percentages of each image's width, so a watermark set up on one photo looks the same on every photo in the batch, whether it is 1080 or 6000 pixels wide. The preview is drawn on a reduced copy with exactly the same proportions as the final image.

Text and logo are placed together as one group, the logo above the text, and the group is positioned in one of nine places, or repeated in staggered rows across the whole image when you choose Tiled. Rotation turns the group (or the whole tiled pattern) about its centre. Text and logo each have their own opacity, and the optional shadow adds a soft dark edge that keeps light text readable on bright areas.

Logos in PNG, WebP, GIF or SVG keep their transparency; an SVG logo is cleaned of scripts and external references before it is drawn. Fonts are ones installed on almost every device, so nothing is downloaded to draw the text.

When the Image Watermark Tool helps

    • Marking product photos with your shop name before listing them.
    • Adding a copyright line to photographs shared online.
    • Stamping DRAFT or CONFIDENTIAL across images of documents.
    • Branding event photos with a logo in one corner.

If the result is not what you expected

The logo has a white box around it
The logo file has no transparency. Use a PNG or WebP logo saved with a transparent background, or an SVG, and it will sit directly on the photo without a box.
The watermark looks too small on some photos
Size is a percentage of each image's width, so it stays in proportion across photos of any resolution. On a very tall photo a watermark sized by width can look small; raise the size or use Tiled.
The text is hard to read on busy photos
Tick Shadow, which adds a soft dark edge around the letters, choose white or another colour that contrasts with the photo, and raise the opacity.

Questions about the Image Watermark Tool

    Can a watermark be removed?

A visible watermark makes reuse more awkward and shows who owns a picture, but anyone determined can crop or retouch it away. A semi-transparent watermark tiled across the whole picture is the hardest to remove.

Does the watermark look the same on every photo?

Yes, relative to each photo. Sizes and margins are percentages of the image, so the same settings give the same look on a small image and a large one.

    Which fonts can I use?

Fonts that almost every device already has: Arial, Georgia, Verdana, Times New Roman, Courier New and Impact, in regular or bold. Nothing is downloaded to draw them.

Are my photos uploaded to add the watermark?

No. The watermark is drawn in your browser, and the photos stay on your device.
